Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech; Click to see a YouTube video) is a high-level, publicly funded university founded in 2011 by the city of Shenzhen in the context of China's higher education reform. The governments of the city of Shenzhen and Guangdong province are investing heavily in the university. It is working towards becoming a world-class university excelling in interdisciplinary research, nurturing innovative talents and delivering new knowledge to the world. SUSTech uses English as instruction language. We welcome applicants from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds. In the latest Times Higher Education (THE) World Universities Rankings, SUSTech was ranked the 8th among all the universities in mainland China and 55th Young University all over the world in 2019. The Guangdong-HongKong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GHM) in south China is fast becoming a knowledge powerhouse for Asia and beyond. In 2016, the GDP of the GHM, which takes up one eighth of Greater China, is close to that of Canada, and is expected to be the world’s largest bay economy, exceeding the Tokyo Bay Area within the next five years. One post-doctoral position available:

Applicants should have (or be receiving very soon) a Ph.D. in Chemistry or in a highly related field and a record of excellence in research. Highly competitive salary will be provided at a United States-leading university level, and no less than a total annual salary of US$ 50,000 (CN¥ 340,000) (after-tax) will be provided for each successful applicant. An appropriate bonus will be given upon performance.

The ideal candidates should have a strong scientific background in fundamental inorganic/organic chemistry or closely related fields, and will commence the duty as soon as possible. To those who are computational chemists, Leo will also be interested in having you.
